Rare Pastrami Bar
The newest Studio Crosby project sees the world through rose tinted glasses – literally: from the pink coloured corrugated steel panels to rose neon illumination, which gives the room, bar, and walls a soft pastel tint, this interior is a dream in millenial pink. For those not in the know, Crosby Studios typically works with furniture and lifestyle objects, reimagining interiors that are transformed into monochromatic obsessions. Harry Nuriev, the founder of Crosby Studios and the inventor of this personal brand of ‘colour blocking’, is a young Russian entrepreuneur who now calls Brooklyn home
.
Cambridge Innovation Center
A more playful approach to architecture is that of Dutch based StudioSpass designs who have transformed the commons area of Rotterdam’s Cambridge Innovation Center into a kind of urban jungle. The coworking area and adjacent office spaces have been enriched by large, sinuous, and contagiously playful color forms that might recall Brazilian artist Robert Burle Marx’s landscape paintings. Who wouldn’t want to work here?
Boutique Claus Porto
This first flagship store of Portuguese Brand Claus Port is located in the heart of New York’s boutique Nolita District; What better home for a European brand boasting 130 years of history and known for its fine soaps and fragrances? The boutique is an ode to the architecture of Lisbon, specifically Casa Dos Bicos, a unique structure whose facade is decorated with a pattern diamond-shaped relief not disimilar to the one of Palazzo Diamante in Ferrara. The defining element of the space, designed by Tacklebox Architecture, are the hundreds of 3D diamond shaped tiles which also act as platforms for exhibiting products.
